About Us

The federation was formed in order to ensure the longevity of each school within its community and to further enhance the high educational and pastoral standards provided by each school.

The Federation was formed due to concerns about falling rolls caused by demographic factors, sustainability and being able to maintain the high educational standards achieved by all three schools over the years. The schools already had a long and successful history of working together on joint projects and it was felt that the extension and formalisation of this arrangement would bring even greater advantages.

The advantages of working together in a more formal partnership are many; the following are just a few examples:

  1. Children have the opportunity to work in larger peer groups on a more regular basis. Often, in a small school there is only one or two in a year group. Peer interaction is an important factor in learning and the development of educational skills.
  2. Often, in a small school there are only one or two children within a year group
  3. A wider knowledge base is created across the staff in all three schools. This knowledge can be accessed by all children and staff within the group.
  4. Sharing and pooling of resources across the group gives children access to a wider and more varied range of learning materials.
  5. Educational visits and workshops become more viable with larger numbers.
  6. Economies of scale and streamlining of management and administration procedures can be achieved allowing more funding to be spent directly on the children.
  7. A jointly funded minibus can be provided.

We strongly believe that Federation has strengthened the position of each school within the group and ensured that high quality education can continue to be delivered. This, in turn, should enable the schools to be sustainable well into the future.
