Art & Craft Club
2008/2009
We have been doing craft activities around the celebration of Chinese New Year, we have made fans and lanterns, Hong Bao envelopes and dragons and, of course, it was too good an opportunity to miss out on trying Chinese food and fortune cookies.
After half-term we will be moving on to explore mosaic techniques and are hoping to create a large piece of mosiac for the school junior playground.

Leading up to Christmas we made various gifts for ourselves and friends and family. Our joint project at this time was creating a stained-glass window depicting the nativity. We didn't use real glass but created our pictures with glass paint on laminate sheet.
Three windows were created showing:
shepherds in the fields
the three wise men
the birth in the stable
The three windows were then framed together and placed in our Christ Church in time for our Nativity play - they stayed there all over the Christmas period.

In the run up to Halloween we had a lot of fun making items which were then used to decorate the school for the 'Friends' Halloween Ghost Walk.
We made a spooky curtain to cover the doorway into the hall and nightlights, lanterns and cat and ghost decorations for inside the hall.
