Big Draw 2008 - Drawn2Devon

In October Parracombe school hosted an event called 'Drawn2Devon' as part of the National Big Draw which is run by the Campaign for Drawing.

As far as we know we were the only school in the South West to host an event which was open to the public.

Children of all the Federation schools and members of the public were invited to bring in photos which showed what Devon means to them and use them to create a large 3D rainbow collage.

We also had drawing tables at Woody Bay Station Steam Rally and Hunters' Inn Beer Festival where people were encouraged to draw 'Devon on a Beer Mat' - these beer mats were then laminated and suspended from the rainbow on coloured ribbons.

Despite the number of photos donated to the project we were only able to make a rainbow which covered one side of the 3d structure so the children are currently working on printing four panels depicting the four seasons to cover the other side of the rainbow - we then hope to put it on display in a range of public places.
