Big Draw 2009

For the 2009 Big Draw we, once again, set up stall at Woody Bay Station's Autumn Gala. Taking as out theme 'Body Art' we asked visitors to the station to draw around their hands and decorate them. Lots of people had a go and we got all sorts of different designs.

In Art Club we followed up the theme by looking at pop art and creating our own Warhol inspired pictures.

To finish off our Big Draw event we decided to replicate Anthony Gormley's 'One and Other' work on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square by staging our own version with the 'Parracombe Plinth'. Each of the children got to spend 5 minutes on the plinth doing whatever they liked - we had reading, drawing, writing a story, telling jokes, making papers hats and planes, sleeping, apple bobbing, guitar playing and, our very own version of another Gormley piece, the Angel of the South West.
