Our trip to Plymouth
We had a great trip to Plymouth. First we went to The Mayflower Centre where there were lots of things to play with and look at. They were telling us all about the history of Plymouth and when the Pilgrim Fathers sailed to New England. We started at the top of the building and moved on down through the three floors until we finally made it to the shop where we bought some things.
We left the shop to wait for the Silver Crest, which was the boat that was going to take us on a trip up the River Tamar. When the boat arrived it started raining heavily but when we got on, it stopped and we could have our packed lunches. We went up the river and back and saw the Dockyard and lots of huge, grey navy ships. We had a good view of the Hoe and could see Smeaton’s Tower which was an old lighthouse. We also went past Drake’s Island.
When we got back we went to the Aquarium, which was excellent! We saw lots of models of wave power and windmills on the top floor and on the next two floors down we saw loads of fish like huge squid, crab, seahorses, sharks and lots of others in huge tanks. Anna got a chance to control a miniature sub in a big tank. She raced another adult and got to the treasure first, so she was very happy. Then we went in the shop and bought a few more things with the little bit of money we had left and got back on the coach to go home. It was a good day!
